BIOGRAPHY OF COMR. ADIELE ALERUCHIAZUBUIKE- SUG PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANT I am AdieleAleruchiAzubuike, popularly known as Government, a 300 Level student of the Department of marketing, Faculty of managementsciences, University of Port Harcourt, with Mat No: U2023/0630119. I am a passionate student leader, an advocate for student welfare, and a firm believer in purposeful unionism. I have had the privilege of serving in various leadership capacities including Class Representative, 2024-2025, President, Student Union government Judge 2025/2026 academicsession. Over the years, I have developed strong skills in advocacy, negotiation, team leadership, and student engagement. My aspiration for the office of SUG President is not driven by title, but by a genuine desire to restore trust in unionism and to build a Union that truly serves every UniPort student. I am a native of Rumuola Community in Obio/Akpor local government area, Rivers State, and I am known for integrity, accessibility, and commitment to service.

MANIFESTO OF ADIELE ALERUCHI AZUBUIKEPresidential Aspirant, Student Union Government (SUG) Election 2026University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT)Theme: "Students First, Leadership with Purpose."Dear Great Nigerian Students of the University of Port Harcourt,My name is Adiele Aleruchi Azubuike, a student of marketing department 300 level under the faculty of management sciences, and I humbly present myself as a candidate for the office of President of the Student Union Government (SUG) 2026.Leadership is not about occupying an office; it is about serving people with integrity, accountability, fairness, and dedication. I believe every student deserves a union that listens, represents, and works tirelessly to improve campus life. That is the kind of leadership I am offering.If elected as your SUG President, I pledge to serve every student without discrimination and to ensure that the welfare of students remains my highest priority.MY COMMITMENTS TO THE STUDENTS OF UNIPORT1. Accountability and Transparent LeadershipI will run an open and accountable administration where students are informed about the activities, projects, and decisions of the Student Union Government. Your voice will matter, your opinions will be heard, and your interests will always come first.2. Students FirstEvery decision made by my administration will be guided by one simple principle: the welfare and progress of UNIPORT students. I will remain accessible, approachable, and committed to addressing students' concerns promptly.3. Rehabilitation of Damaged WalkwaysFor many years, several walkways within our university have remained damaged, making movement difficult and unsafe for students. I will actively engage the university management and all relevant stakeholders to advocate for the repair and rehabilitation of these walkways to ensure a safer and more conducive learning environment.4. School Fees ExtensionMany students experience financial difficulties that affect their ability to meet payment deadlines. My administration will engage the university authorities to seek reasonable extensions for school fee payments whenever necessary, ensuring that more students are given a fair opportunity to complete their registration without unnecessary hardship.5. Student EmpowermentEducation should go beyond the classroom. I will pursue empowerment initiatives by collaborating with organizations, alumni, and partners to provide:Skills acquisition programmes.Entrepreneurship training.Career development workshops.Scholarships and financial support opportunities where available.Internship and networking opportunities.6. Improving Electricity Supply in Aluu CommunityA significant number of UNIPORT students reside in Aluu, where poor electricity supply has remained a major challenge for years. My administration will engage the Aluu community leadership, electricity providers, and other relevant stakeholders to advocate for practical and lasting solutions that will improve power supply for students and residents.7. Equal Treatment and Fair RepresentationEvery student, regardless of faculty, department, religion, ethnicity, gender, or level, deserves equal treatment. My administration will uphold fairness, justice, and inclusiveness in every aspect of student representation.8. Support for Course RepresentativesCourse Representatives play an important role in ensuring effective communication between students and lecturers. My administration will work towards supporting Course Representatives every semester by facilitating access to essential materials and resources that will enhance classroom administration and improve communication within their classes.9. Strengthening Faculty and Departmental LeadershipFaculty and Departmental Presidents are the closest student leaders to the students. My administration will ensure they are actively involved in SUG activities, policy discussions, and decision-making processes. Together, we will build a stronger student representation system that reaches every faculty and department.10.
