UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT STUDENTS UNION GOVERNMENT MANFESTO READING CANDIDATE: AMEH MONDAY SAMUEL FACULTY: FACULTY OF ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING (200 LEVEL) ASPIRANT FOR: SUG PROVOST THEME: DISCIPLINE WITH DIGNITY: FROM ORDER TO IMPACT Dear Students of the University of Port Harcourt, I, AMEH MONDAY SAMUEL, present this manifesto as my solemn commitment to serve as your next SUG Provost. Our union thrives when discipline is upheld with dignity, when order is maintained with fairness, and when each action translates into tangible impact for every student on campus. As a 200 Level student of Mechatronics Engineering, I pledge to lead with integrity, calm resolve, and an unwavering commitment to your safety, rights, and welfare. I have served as a personal assistant to the office of the Student Union Government Provost (2025/2026) and I know how the office works. During my time in service, I have coordinated several peace-keeping missions inside and outside the UNIQUE UNIVERSITY OF PORTHARCOURT MY 5-POINT AGENDA 1. DISCIPLINE WITH DIGNITY Enforce campus rules fairly and respectfully, ensuring all disciplinary processes are transparent, impartial, and uphold the dignity of every student. 2. CAMPUS SAFETY FIRST Collaborate with campus security to improve patrols, install clearly marked emergency contact points, and launch a student safety WhatsApp response line for rapid support. 3. CONGRESS MARSHAL REFORMS Restructure the Congress Marshal unit to be professional, accountable, and properly trained, focused on service and student protection rather than intimidation. 4. STUDENT RIGHTS & SECURITY BRIDGE Establish a Student Rights & Security Desk as a bridge between students and authorities to address complaints, protect student rights, and ensure due process in all matters 5. SUG EVENT SANITY Standardize SUG events with clear guidelines to ensure orderliness, proper scheduling, zero disruptions to academic activities, and inclusive, safe and organized gatherings.
