Biography
Baribor Beahbari Susan is an Information Technology student in the University of Port Harcourt. She hails from Gokana LGA, Rivers State. The second daughter and child of her family. She is a dedicated and purpose-driven student with a strong passion for leadership, service, accountability, and the advancement of students’ welfare. Driven by integrity, transparency, diligence, and a desire to make a meaningful difference, Susan aspires to serve as the Students’ Union Government (SUG) Treasurer. Her aspiration is founded on the belief that student resources should be managed responsibly, transparently, and in the best interest of the entire student body.

MANIFESTO FOR THE OFFICE OF SUG TREASURER “ACCOUNTABILITY, TRANSPARENCY, AND RESPONSIBLE MANAGEMENT” Fellow students, distinguished leaders, and members of our great institution, I stand before you today with humility and a genuine desire to serve. I am presenting myself for the office of SUG Treasurer because I believe our students deserve a financial representative who is accountable, transparent, responsible, and committed to putting the interests of students first The office of the Treasurer is more than keeping records or managing figures. It is a position of trust. It requires integrity, careful financial management, proper documentation, and the courage to ensure that every resource entrusted to the Union is used responsibly. If elected, I will work to make the financial administration of the SUG more transparent, organized, and student-oriented. MY VISION To build a financial system within the Students' Union Government that promotes transparency, accountability, prudent spending, proper documentation, and responsible stewardship of students' resources. MY MISSION To ensure that every financial transaction of the Union is properly documented, every expenditure is responsibly managed, and students have confidence in the way their Union's finances are handled. MY PRIORITIES 1. Transparency and Accountability I will promote a culture where financial activities are properly recorded and accountable. 2. Proper Financial Record Keeping I will advocate for accurate and organized financial records, including proper documentation of income, expenditure, receipts, budgets, and other relevant financial transactions. 3. Responsible Management of SUG Funds I will encourage prudent spending and discourage unnecessary financial waste. 4. Student-Centered Financial Decisions I will support financial decisions that prioritize student welfare, academic support, student development, and initiatives that provide genuine value to the student community. 5. Collaboration With Other SUG Officers Effective financial management cannot be achieved by one person alone. I will work closely with the President, executives, legislative arm, committees, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that financial decisions follow established procedures and serve the collective interest of students. 6. Financial Discipline I will uphold the principles of integrity, caution, responsibility, and discipline in the discharge of my duties. I understand that being Treasurer means being entrusted with resources that do not belong to me personally. They belong to the Union and, ultimately, the students we represent. MY COMMITMENT TO YOU If given the opportunity to serve, I will not promise what I cannot deliver. Instead, I promise to bring integrity to the office, accountability to every transaction, discipline to financial management, and dedication to the welfare of students. I will listen. I will learn.
