SHORT BIOGRAPHY* I am Ereh Destiny Nyekazi, a vibrant and purpose-driven student of the Department of English, University of Port Harcourt, from Ikwerre LGA, Rivers State. I am passionate about leadership, people, social development, entertainment, and creating meaningful experiences. I believe in serving with humility, standing for what is right, and inspiring others to become better. With God as my foundation, purpose as my direction, and service as my commitment, I am determined to make a difference. I’m not just building a name; I’m building a legacy.
Manifesto
*MANIFESTO FOR THE OFFICE OF DIRECTOR OF SOCIALS, SUG UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT.* Fellow Great Alutites,today I won't be addressing you as students ,but as my kings and Queens. I remain my humble but never intimidated self, EREH DESTINY NYEKAZI , a dedicated and vibrant student of the Department of ENGLISH STUDIES 300 Level, and a proud member of the Faculty of Humanities,From Kelga,Rivers state. I start with a story" Chika,Oluwafemi,Abdullahi Are students of uniport who come to school everyday,attend lectures,write tests,submits assignments and goes back home.Nobody knows what they can do. These students are incredible photographer,comedian and musician respectively.but since there was no platform there talent became hidden. One day the student union Government decided for a change in their social life ,made it more fun,made it more realistic and made it more peaceful.these guys decided to be part of it,and behold there talents were known not just across uniport but in other places Over the years, I have grown within this school, building relationships, understanding student life beyond academics, and recognizing the importance of social balance in creating a complete university experience. I am contesting for the position of Director of Social, SUG UNIPORT, with a clear vision to create a lively, engaging, and inclusive social atmosphere where every UNIPORT student feels connected, valued, and involved. --- MY LEADERSHIP TRACK RECORD I have consistently shown commitment and leadership within my department: 1.Served as the director of sports for the department,2024/25 session. 2.Social media head for the whole faculty of humanities 2025/26 session. 3.Active stakeholder within my department since 2024 4.Experienced in organizing and participating in student-centered activities. 5.Active supporter of the Sug events and promoter. Through these roles, I have learned teamwork, coordination, and how to bring people together to achieve meaningful results. *WHAT IS SOCIALS?* “Socials is not just about parties. Socials is about people,bringing students together, discovering talents, creating opportunities, building community and making the university experience memorable.” *MY AGENDA* I just have 3 agendas which connotates what I stand for.the number 3 in real life scenario stand for TIME,BALANCE, and RELATIONSHIPS. *1.A STRONG MORAL AND FAITH-BASED COMMUNITY.* My fellow Alutites, standing before you here is someone who adores God so much and I believe without God ,nothing can be perfected or done well. “I believe a strong university community is built not only on academics and entertainment, but also on values. I will promote a respectful faith-based community where students can come together to encourage one another, pray, share positive values, support those in need, and build genuine relationships. This will never be about imposing one religion on another; it will be about creating an atmosphere where faith, respect and peaceful coexistence can strengthen our Aluta community. “When faith builds our character, unity strengthens our community, and service becomes our responsibility, we don't just create better students we create better human beings.” 2 *Faculty and Departmental Collaboration.* "can two or three work together except they agree?" As a vibrant student of uniport ,and the fact that I've worked with so many faculties during intra related social activities, I noticed that there's a weak link between the department to SUG SOCIALS. faculties towards the SUG SOCIALS. I will establish stronger collaboration with faculty and departmental social committees so that social activities can become more coordinated, inclusive and impactful across the university.I believe someone would say it is easier said that done.but you can check my track records,I single handedly brought 24 course reps together from the Faculty of humanities and filled groups with 2000 members above only from humanities.check my records.. 3. *THE GREAT ALUTITE EXPERIENCE [ONE CAMPUS,ONE DAY]* Great Alutites, we don't need to wait for the sug week to get a massive impact of what the sug Socials stands for. I believe Socials is a daily thing, if you have followed me closely I didn't come here promising you parties,promising you events,because these are the norms and these are things shat should be done ordinarily. I tackle not from the surface but from the root and believe once you tackle the root you get your victory and achieve great results. "if the foundation be destroyed what can the righteous do? " this buttresses my point. *WHAT IS ONE CAMPUS ONE DAY?* THE GREAT ALUTITE EXPERIENCE — “ONE CAMPUS, ONE DAY” A massive one-day social festival where the entire university becomes a celebration of student life. It could combine: Battle of Faculties — music, dance, comedy and spoken word Culture & Fashion Parade — every faculty represents a Nigerian culture Creative Village — photography, painting, fashion, crafts and student businesses Taste of Nigeria — food stands representing different cultures/states Networking Zone — students meet entrepreneurs, alumni and other creatives Alutite Memory Wall — students leave messages, pictures and memories for future generations *INITIALLY, I SAID MY POINTS WERE THREE WHICH REPRESENTS WHAT I STAND FOR EARLIER* But i tell you my kings and Queens,I unlock the number 4 which represents FOUNDATION,STABILITY AND ORGANIZATION. 4 *BUILDING A WELL STRUCTURED ACADEMIC SOCIAL EXPERIENCE:* I stand before you not to boast or blow my trumpet,but as a student who have managed every aspect of my life and it also drives down to my academics, I have a CGPA OF 4.2,you can check my records.i won't offer you all what I dont have. "As a man thinketh in his heart so he is" “You cannot build a truly social student community with a dull mind. Social excellence must go hand in hand with academic enlightenment. We must create a UniPort where students are not only entertained, but also informed, intellectually stimulated and empowered to grow.” A vibrant social life with an enlightened mind,because you can't be socially active and academically empty. Lastly my kings and my Queens. 5 *Social Media & Digital Engagement/COLLABORATION* Having worked as a social media director for faculty of humanities. I will improve the way SUG connects with students digitally through engaging content, student spotlights, event coverage, interactive programmes and timely communication. Collaborations with musicians ,skit makers,individual talents and as well upcoming talents in and out of the school as I personally have contacts for that myself. *MY COMMITMENT* I will not promise what I cannot deliver. I will listen to students, work with student leaders, engage relevant stakeholders and constantly seek ways to make our social experience better. I believe leadership is not about occupying an office. Leadership is about creating opportunities, solving problems and leaving a positive impact. With God as our guide, with unity as our strength and with the Aluta spirit in our hearts, we can build a social system that represents the creativity, diversity and excellence of the University of Port Harcourt.
