COMR. OFFOR UGOCHUKWU GEORGE (KIZIBOY) MANIFESTO FOR THE OFFICE OF SUG DIRECTOR OF SOCIALS University of Port Harcourt Dear Great Uniport Students, Every great campus experience is built on more than lectures and examinations. It is built on friendships, unforgettable moments, opportunities to showcase talents, and events that make us proud to be students of the University of Port Harcourt. I am presenting myself to serve as your SUG Director of Socials because I believe our social life can become even more exciting, more inclusive, and more impactful for every student, regardless of faculty or department. First, I would like to appreciate the efforts of the immediate past Director of Socials. The previous administration delivered a commendable tenure and laid a strong foundation. My goal is not to erase those achievements but to build on them and raise the standard even higher. Track Record Before speaking about what I intend to do, I believe it is important to speak about what I have already done. As the former NUESA Director of Socials, I had the opportunity to plan, coordinate and bring several social programmes to life. These were not just events on a calendar; they were experiences that brought students together, created opportunities for young talents and gave people moments they could genuinely look back on. Got Talent with Kiziboy One of the biggest highlights of my tenure was Got Talent with Kiziboy. What started as a talent platform turned into one of the most talked-about social events held in Uniport during the semester. The programme brought together some of the university's most promising young talents, giving students the opportunity to step forward, compete, perform and show the campus what they could do. With popular artistes and DJs coming through to spark up the atmosphere, the event had the energy of a proper concert while still keeping the focus on the students and their talents. It was a night of music, competition, entertainment and pure campus energy. More importantly, it proved something: when students are given the right platform, they will show up and show out. Uniport Champions & Conference League Finals After-Party with Kiziboy The Uniport Champions and Conference League Finals After-Party with Kiziboy was another memorable one. After the competition on the field came the celebration off it. Winners, supporters and football lovers came together to celebrate their teams and enjoy the moment. The atmosphere was one of those rare occasions where the rivalry ended and everybody simply came together to have a good time. It was a proper celebration of sports, friendship and campus social life, and it showed how sporting activities can be connected with entertainment to create even bigger experiences for students. NUESA Monthly Online Social Talk Social interaction shouldn't always have to wait for a physical event. The NUESA Monthly Online Social Talk created a different kind of social experience, allowing students to connect, interact and vibe from wherever they were. One of the standout editions featured DJ Wiper, one of the biggest DJs around, joining us online and bringing his personality and energy to the conversation. It was a simple idea, but it created an avenue for students to interact with someone they ordinarily might only see behind a DJ booth. Face of NUESA The Face of NUESA was another programme that brought together some of the finest faces and personalities within Engineering. Students came forward to showcase their elegance, confidence and personality, with contestants properly judged across different categories before a deserving winner emerged. Beyond the pageantry itself, the programme gave students an opportunity to express themselves, build confidence and enjoy a different side of university life. NUESA After-Exam Party And then came the NUESA After-Exam Party, organised in partnership with the Faculty of Agriculture. After the stress of examinations, students needed a proper opportunity to breathe, relax and celebrate. The collaboration made the event bigger, bringing students from both faculties together for a massive night of music, entertainment and celebration. It was another example of what can happen when faculties come together instead of operating in isolation. These experiences have taught me something very important: social activities are not just about throwing parties. They are about creating connections, giving people platforms, bringing communities together and creating memories. That is the experience I am bringing into this race. My Vision A United Social Community One of my biggest goals is to create a truly unified social community across the University of Port Harcourt. Too often, amazing events happen within individual faculties without the wider student body knowing or participating. As your Director of Socials, I will work closely with the Directors of Socials from every faculty to create stronger collaboration, better communication, and more campus-wide participation. Together, we can organise activities that make every student feel included, no matter their faculty. Bigger and Better Events Students deserve events that are well-planned, entertaining, and memorable. I will work towards organising quality concerts, themed parties, cultural events, game nights, movie nights, festivals, and other exciting activities that students will genuinely look forward to. Discovering and Promoting Talent Uniport is filled with talented singers, dancers, comedians, fashion models, spoken word artists, DJs, content creators, and entrepreneurs. I will promote regular talent hunts, showcases, competitions, and exhibitions that give students opportunities to shine and gain recognition. Inclusive Social Activities No student should feel left out. I will ensure our programmes cater to students from different backgrounds and interests, creating opportunities for everyone to participate and enjoy campus life. Listening to Students Your ideas matter. I will maintain an open-door policy, welcome suggestions, and ensure that student opinions play a role in planning our social calendar. My Promise I cannot promise perfection, but I can promise dedication, accountability, creativity, and the willingness to work with everyone to make our campus social life better than it has ever been. This election is not just about choosing a Director of Socials. It is about choosing someone who will create memories, celebrate talents, unite faculties, and make every Uniport student proud to be part of our vibrant community. Together, let's move from good to even better. Vote Offor Ugochukwu George (Kiziboy) For SUG Director of Socials Let's create experiences we'll remember long after graduation.
