Manifesto
MANIFESTO FOR THE OFFICE OF SUG JUDGE | UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT Greatest Unique Uniport Students I am Comr. Osisoma Godstime Ballow, a 300lvl student of the department of Health Promotion, Environmental Health and Safety Education, Faculty of Education and it is with deep humility and a genuine desire to serve that I step forward as a candidate for the office of SUG Judge. I am not running for the sake of holding a title. I am running because our student judiciary needs to be a place where every single student regardless of department, level, or background is heard, respected, and treated with absolute fairness. Leadership, to me, is strictly about service. The office of the SUG Judge carries the weight of protecting your rights and ensuring justice is never compromised. WHAT I STAND FOR Justice for Every Student: Justice shouldn't depend on who you know, your level, or your popularity. If given your mandate, I will ensure every student who comes before the court gets a fair, unbiased hearing. Uncompromising Impartiality: Pressure, politics, and personal friendships have no place in the courtroom. My allegiance will remain strictly with the truth, the SUG Constitution, and natural justice. Protection of Student Rights: You cannot defend rights you don't know you have. I will actively promote student rights awareness so everyone knows how and when to seek redress. Due Process & Fair Hearing: No student should ever be condemned without a chance to speak. I will enforce a system where both sides are fully heard before any judgment is passed. An Accessible Judiciary: The court shouldn't be an intimidating place. I will work to make our judicial processes straightforward, approachable, and transparent for anyone seeking resolution. Constitutional & Legal Awareness: A constitution is useless if the people don't understand it. I will support clear, simplified initiatives to help students understand our SUG Constitution and legal avenues. Peaceful Conflict Resolution: Not every dispute needs to be a battle. Where suitable, I will advocate for mediation and constructive dialogue to settle issues amicably without abandoning formal legal principles. Accountability at Every Step: Holding public office is a trust. I promise to execute my duties with discipline, openness, and uncompromising integrity. MY PLEDGE TO YOU I won't offer you empty promises of perfection. Instead, I offer sincerity, readiness, and a firm commitment to serve. I will listen. I will stay objective. I will uphold the Constitution. I will put student welfare first. I aim to be a judge who is fair to all, firm in truth, accessible to everyone, and anchored in integrity. This election isn't about me it's about the standard of justice we want in Uniport. It's about building an SUG Judiciary where justice isn't just for the privileged, but a right guaranteed to every student. I humbly ask for your trust, your support, and your vote. Let us build a judiciary we can all rely on. COMR. OSISOMA GODSTIME BALLOW Aspirant for SUG Judge, University of Port Harcourt. JUSTICE FOR ALL. FAIRNESS FOR EVERY STUDENT.
